Many people have asked what the difference is between search engine optimization and Google AdWords, and which one is better to use. Both SEO and AdWords offers optimal targeting of traffic key phrases, but on the other side, in terms of internet marketing, they hold opposing views.
What is SEO?
SEO is an abbreviation for search engine optimization. It is a method of digital marketing that focuses on making websites more content relevant to search engines. Search engine optimization helps websites rank higher on the search engine results page. If SEO is implemented properly, it optimizes a website in terms if keywords, content, links and other technical aspects, so that search engines see your sie as the most relevant result. It then puts your site in a primary spot on the search engine results page. Search engine optimization is known as the process of getting more traffic to your site by getting your site listed and ranked highly.
What is Google Adwords?
Adwords is an advertising platform created by Google. AdWords makes it possible for you to position your advertisement on the top of the search engine results page. It allows you to target internet users’ search queries and display your ads every time the user is looking for a similar product or service. The user will then click on your advertisement that will take them to your site or landing page. AdWords allows your business listing to be displayed alongside the natural search results when people search for specific keyword phrases on Google. AdWords search results are also known as Pay Per Click (PPC) results.
Differences between SEO and Adwords
SEO requires a lot more time for results to show than AdWords does, but on the end SEO can result in a high rank on Google’s search engine results page for an amount of key search terms. Although SEO takes more time and work, it is an organic listing so you don’t have to pay per click, like with AdWords. With SEO there is no assurance that your website will rank in the organic search results, but AdWords, on the other hand, guarantees that your website will be displayed on the top of the search engine results page. One of the most important advantages of AdWords ads is that they are displayed on top of the organic listings. SEO targets high traffic keywords and AdWords is a rapid method for generating leads and sales.
